Cruiseships

As head of the art department of VFD Architectenbureau Utrecht, Mariecke Siezen has been responsible for the selection and acquisition of all the Works of art on board several newbuilding cruise vessels of Holland America Line/Westours Inc.

The total budget for art was about 5 million US-dollars per ship.

Mariecke Siezen took care of or supervised the following tasks: planning, budgeting, budgetary control, determine the art locations on board, design of art locations and/or showcases, selection and acquisition of artworks, commissioning art, restoration and conservation, framing, documentation of all the art on board, transports, mounting of artworks on board.
